MSB Alternative Education
One of today’s most glaring issues is the state of higher education. A significant shortcoming of universities and colleges is their inability to cater to every student or researcher who wants to address the fast-paced and ever-changing demands of today's world, or to find a career that is specifically relevant to their needs.
The evolving landscape of higher education serves as the foundation for societal change and requires innovation, new academic disciplines, and a revision of outdated academic models.
Alternative education is designed for scientists across all disciplines who recognize the value of non-academic sources of knowledge for their research. It focuses on research areas that are particularly innovative. The spectrum of alternative education is continually evolving: new research departments are established to explore groundbreaking theoretical or fundamental questions, while others are closed when their research field has become well-established within traditional universities.
International Summer School 2026
The application deadline is expected to be in November 2025
Within the framework of this program, the MSB offers summer schools that aim to reflect, explain, critique, and experiment with various methodological tools, theoretical challenges, and applied strategies of the Metacracy project for artists, journalists, politicians, psychoanalysts, social scientists, virtual reality designers, and blockchain economists.
The application for an MSB Summer School must include a specific teaching or research topic from the fields of blockchain economics, digital architecture design, philosophy, democracy, or future studies related to the MSB focus topics.
The application must be submitted at least six months prior to the planned MSB Summer School. Accepted participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts from diverse disciplines, contributing to the ongoing development of innovative solutions.

Metacracy project takes a number of relevant theoretic and applied forms but its basic tenet focuses on a realistic approach to reduce digital divide.
Not everyone possesses the skills, tools, opportunities, or knowledge to navigate virtual spaces, which could create a barrier to participation in social justice initiatives within the metaverse. This could exclude older people or those who have not had access to digital technology. We provide a plan to make the metaverse accessible to all. To create a fair metaverse, Metacracy studies offer new opportunities for marginalized groups, providing a platform for voices that are often unheard or overlooked in both the physical and virtual worlds.
In the context of the Metacracy project, people living in remote or disadvantaged areas, immigrants, refugees, individuals with disabilities, and members of minority groups who may face discrimination and barriers to full participation in society can connect with others, build supportive networks, and contribute to the development of new ideas and initiatives for a better "meta future."
